I have not. For my first food diary made I in all of my meals and snacks, an Excel template; then I went my goals on the bottom. As the day progressed, would I type in my grams of fat or calories (which I happen to be at the time count!) and then I balanced it out with my goal as the day to see how I was doing.
My totals made me very anxious to constantly count. Instead of the assessment of my intake quietly at the end of the day, I got a bit obsessive about it and checked every few hours, my totals to the hundredth decimal figure out!
Now, if you have the skill and the time to go all out, more power to you! You can still do your calendar on the computer and not as accurate as I tried to be. No matter how you keep journal, you have to be honest. Not doing you any good if you fudge.
Find out what works for you: If your progress charts keep you motivated, do it; If the easier the better, just a simple notebook use as described in the instructions below. It's all up to you!
