FTC targets false ads for Acai supplements

U.s. Federal Trade Commission regulators announced a crack-down Tuesday on Web sites selling acai berry weight loss products with counterfeit notes of supposedly reputable news outlets including CNN and USA Today.

The FTC has federal courts freezing of funds of a total of 10 companies that use of this tactic of the advertising market for the products create requested.

The ads seem to be real-life testimonies of those examined legitimate news channels and publications, but "...the sites are just ads aimed at consumers, deceptively enticing "the FTC has stated. The websites in question not only refer to the news channels, but often contain a logo too.

The FTC has received numerous complaints from people who paid $ by the deceptive sites up to 100 products sold. The FTC will try to make the courts the companies providing these refunds to consumers.
