Do you schedule your workouts for the week?? Or do you simply follow the same routine day after day?? I'm a big fan of creating a balanced workout program that includes at least three essential forms of exercise: cardio, strength, and flexibility.? But in order to fit all of those workouts into a hectic week you need to do some savvy scheduling.? You also need to combine workouts for maximum effectiveness.
Short and Easy Recovery Day Workout
This weekend, pair a short yoga workout with a low to moderate intensity walk.? Keep in mind however, that this will count as an easy or recovery day workout.? It won't work your body or burn the significant calories that more vigorous workout will.? So why bother doing it?? Because your body needs it.? Benefits include:
improved range of motion in your jointsincreased flexibility throughout your whole bodyrelaxation and stress reliefhelps build the daily exercise habitdecreases risk of injury and burnout. As a general rule, yoga is not the best weight loss workout.? But when you combine it with other forms of exercise and do a few classes per week, it will help keep your body healthy and your mind focused.
Complete Your Yoga/Cardio Combo
Walk briskly for 20-30 minutes to warm up your body, then complete a 20-30 minute yoga workout.? If you don't belong to a yoga studio, find a class online.? Believe it or not, there are some great yoga classes on YouTube.
When you schedule the rest of your workouts for the week, use these other resources to combine cardio, strength and flexbility activities.
