Less Effective Weight Loss Workouts

yogaAs a trainer and weight loss coach, I hear questions about weight loss workouts all the time.? The most common question I am asked is "what is the best weight loss workout?"? Exercisers are often disappointed to find out that there is no single workout that is necessarily best for losing weight.? But there are some workouts that are less effective if weight loss is your goal.

Less Effective Weight Loss Workouts

Yoga. If you grab your mat and head to the local yoga studio in hopes of slimming down, you may want to rethink your plan.? Yoga provides some benefits for people trying to lose weight, but before you invest too much time in this form of exercise, you need to understand what yoga can and cannot do for you if you are trying to lose weight. Casual Biking. Friday's weekend workout included an effective weight loss cycling workout.? Biking can help you lose weight, but only if you design your bike ride properly. Monitor your exercise intensity so that you? work out hard enough to burn significant calories and build the muscle you need to slim down.Walking. Like biking, casual walking usually isn't performed at an intensity level that will burn significant calories.? This doesn't mean you shouldn't include walking in a balanced weight loss workout program.? But it makes a better recovery day workout for most people.

Keep in mind, that if you are completely new to exercise, any workout will provide weight loss benefits.? But as your fitness level improves, try to include harder workouts to burn more calories.
